My name is Jahanzeb Khan. I’m a Designer and Philosopher. I presently work as the head designer of a major fashion trend company, WGSN and Creative Director of Designer Reserve, a collaborative design studio where I work with interesting clients. Previously, I have been under the employ of design firms such as McRoberts Mitchell and FHM magazine, providing art direction and team management. My passions cover a broad spectrum of design mediums.
New York based Axis Denim is a global design & development company, as well as a manufacturer with fabric mills, laundry & sewing facilities.
Design Brief:
Design a Logotype and Icon; that conveys manufactured goods, with a comprehensive understanding of their clients; that adjust to the specific individual needs. Axis Denim is the only ‘true’ global denim manufacturing company in the world, with resources in China, Japan, Italy, Turkey & in the US; Los Angeles, CT, & New York.
The Sandpit is a day in the life of New York City, as seen in miniature scale. The details are amazing (For best viewing, check HD and watch in full screen mode.). The flying helicopters and construction machines look like something from hot wheels. After reading the making of, I was even more captivated by the production and scope of the project. The movie is inspired by Koyaanisqatsi ; which revels a look at modern life and its imbalances; both are great films. Enjoy the short film.
I came across the works of James Jirat Patradoon last year and it seems now I can’t surf the web without seeing his name mentioned. He is an amazing artist who brings so much life to his work. Patradoon’s gritty style is refreshing from all the shiny kid robot style art floating around the net (you know who you are, you hypebeast!). It would be great to see James pencil up a Frank Miller story, just wishful thinking.

Raghava’s inspiring tale of a cartoonist to painter, media darling to social outcast, and son to father humbly given at the TED conference. Being a graphic designer and seeing the phases I’ve gone through in my work, it’s always interesting to hear the tales of others and how our work changes as our experiences change.
